Getting started
The ONTERM indexes are alphabetical listings of the official government names and generic names which appear in the ONTERM databases. The English indexes list all the English names in alphabetical order, while the French indexes list all the French names in alphabetical order. Generally, we recommend that you carry out your searches using the query box on the ONTERM Search page. However, if you know exactly how a name begins, it may be faster to scroll an index to find it than to search for it using the query box.
To search an index, make your setting selections for the index language (English or French), the point of entry for starting a search in an index (the first letter of the name you want to find), and the database to be searched (individual or combined). Once you have made your setting selections on the ONTERM Index page, click on the Browse Index button.
NOTE: Abbreviations, synonyms and usage examples are not included in the indexes.
