Government Translation Services
The Government Translation Services (GTS) of the Ministry of Government Services is responsible for:
managing translation services from English to French and from French into English exclusively for clients within the Ontario Public Service (OPS). This includes procuring translation and French proofreading services through competitive practices and managing contracts with approved suppliers.
co-ordinating large, sensitive or very complex
translation projects such as the Throne Speech and Ministry Business Plans.
maintaining the Translation Tracking System, a corporate tool
for tracking translation jobs and costs within a ministry and across government.
setting, keeping and distributing official government
terminology in French and providing guidelines on preferred French usage.
maintaining the corporate Web site, ONTERM, and,
providing OPS clients and the public with a Terminology Hotline service for official
government names.
