Navigation Tips
The database index is based on approved geographical names and is divided into four levels. The main entry point is a set of one-letter anchors (e.g., A) and one numeric anchor (1 to 9). Clicking on the numeric anchor leads to a page which lists the few names which begins with a number. Clicking on a particular letter leads to a set of 3-letter anchors (e.g., Aar-Ale), which, in turn, lead to a set of name anchors (e.g., Aaron Creek - Aberfoyle Creek). Each name anchor gives access to a page of 50 geographic names.
To find a particular geographic name, you must first choose the appropriate one-letter anchor. For example, if you are looking for the name "Mayfield Lake", choose the anchor "M". From the list of 3-letter anchors which appears, choose the anchor "Maw - McG"; then, choose the name anchor "Maw's Island - May Lake" to get to the page listing the entry for "Mayfield Lake". To locate this entry, either scroll down the page or use the Find function of your browser.
If you are looking for a geographic name which begins with a number, for example "24 Mile Lake", use the anchor "1 to 9" as your main entry point. However, if the number is written out in full letters, (e.g., "One Mile Bay"), use the appropriate letter anchor instead.
